This practical course will focus on local anaesthetic techniques in the cat and dog which can be easily employed in general practice. The course will provide an overview of local anaesthetic agents and perineural anaesthesia including peripheral nerve blocks for dental surgery. It will also include an introduction to epidural and spinal anaesthesia and fascial plane blocks. The delegates will enjoy the opportunity to practice techniques including blind approaches to peripheral nerve blocks, epidural and spinal anaesthesia, and a fascial plane (transversus abdominis) block with ultrasound guidance.
