Neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS) ProgrammeInfo Course Information![]() Overview This programme is mapped to the QIS domains – knowledge and skills framework, part of the National Standards for Neonatal Qualified in Specialty (QIS) Education (NHS England, 2025). These standards have been developed to improve and standardise the quality and consistency of neonatal QIS education programmes across England, in partnership with the Neonatal Nurses Association, the British Association of Perinatal Medicine, and the Royal College of Nursing, and encompass previous guidance from British Association of Perinatal Medicine. Teaching days cover the following domains from the National Standards: · Domain 1: Personal and professional development · Domain 2: Overview of neonatal services · Domain 3. Fluid, electrolyte, nutrition, feeding and elimination management · Domain 4. Respiratory and cardiovascular care · Domain 5. Neurological and infant neurodevelopmental care · Domain 6. Thermoregulation, skin, hygiene, infection prevention and infection · Domain 7. Admissions, stabilisation, transfers and discharges · Domain 8. Surgical care · Domain 9. Palliative and bereavement care · Domain 10. Psychologically informed neonatal care (PINC) Upon successful completion of assessments and meeting programme standards, you will receive a Certificate of Attendance from the University of Nottingham.
