Course Description

 

This one-day face-to-face workshop will enable you to discover the content of a PG Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and understand what previous experience is necessary to study and thrive on the programme. You will learn about NHS Talking Therapy services and how CBT fits into this provision from an expert clinician & CBT educator. It is aimed at mental health nurses and other professionals (counsellors, social workers, PWPs) interested in developing a career in CBT.

Learning objectives   

  • Overview of CBT and the common mental health problems it can be used to treat. 

  • Learn how the PG Diploma in CBT is structured, what you will study, and how you will be assessed. 

  • Gain insight into developing a career in NHS Talking Therapy services and discover what experience is required to become a CBT trainee.  

Presented by David Blant, MSc in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, an Assistant Professor in CBT at the University of Nottingham. David is fully accredited with the British Association of Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapy (BABCP) and has over twenty years’ experience of working in primary and secondary care mental health services. He has been delivering teaching on CBT based therapies since 2016.
