Description

Whilst you are a full-time student at the University of Nottingham you may not need to pay council tax. This document is for fully registered, full-time students. PLEASE DO NOT PLACE AN ORDER IF YOU HAVE NOT YET STARTED YOUR COURSE.

 

Detailed Description

Postgraduate Research (PGR) Students only – If you are a full-time research student (PhD, MRes etc) please use THIS LINK to order your council tax exemption, any orders placed using the link at the top of the page will not be accepted.

If you live in one of the following areas, Student Services will automatically inform your Council that you are a full time student:

• Broxtowe Borough Council
• Derby City Council
• Erewash Borough Council
• Gedling Borough Council
• North West Leicestershire District Council
• Nottingham City Council
• Rushcliffe Borough Council

Please note that if you live in one of these areas, you do not need to request a council tax exemption document, as we will look at the Term Time address you have provided and provide your local council with a list of full-time registered students. If you receive a request for payment of council tax, and you live in one of these areas, notify your local council in writing that you are a student here and that your name appears on the University's listing.

If you live outside of the above areas then you may need to request a council tax exemption certificate.  

Council tax exemption certificates are free of charge. Only one copy is permitted per academic year.

This document is for full-time students only.  If you're not a full-time student, you are not eligible for a Council Tax exemption, please contact your local authority for more information.
