Spanish Level 1 Group 3 - is aimed at learners who have no previous knowledge of the language. 

 This 20 week course will introduce some of the basic structures of the language through topics related to social and everyday life in the country/countries where it is spoken. The focus is on listening, speaking and reading simple materials that introduce basic grammatical structures.

Course Description

 

Progression: After completion of the whole of level 1 (term 1 and 2), students are ready to move on to Level 2 next year.

 

On successful completion of the 20 week course, students will be able to: 

• exchange simple greetings
• introduce themselves and other people
• Give personal information about family, job or studies, where they live
• Give the same information about other people
• Use numbers 1-100, express dates, time, prices
• Shop for food and clothes
• Order meals and drinks
• Give directions
• Talk about the weather
• Book holiday accommodation

 

Resources to support the course include on-line materials which will be made available by the tutor. There will be a textbook in addition to this. It is highly recommended that students obtain a copy of the book to assist them with their independent study at home. Your tutor will be able to advise.
