Italian - Advanced -This 20 week online course is aimed at learners with extensive previous knowledge of the language. This is the right level for you if: 

  • you have attended level 5 of our evening class programme or equivalent
  • you have A level (A*/A/B)
  • you have a level equivalent to B1/B2 on the CEFR

Course Description

Please note - classes will be delivered online via Zoom (or similar) in small groups. Once registration has closed, your tutor will send instructions on how to access the class. In order to be able to access the classes you will need either a computer/tablet equipped with a webcam/microphone and good internet access.


By booking on to this class, you are committing to the full 20 week course. Fees are non-refundable and no partial refund can be given for any classes not attended.


Course aims: to further develop communication skills and fluency and promote increased accuracy in use of grammatical structures and vocabulary. Advanced grammatical structures of the language are practised with authentic materials and the target language is used throughout this course. You will study language through a variety of themes relevant to the country/countries where the language is spoken. 


Resources to support the course include on-line materials which will be made available by the tutor. There may be a textbook in addition to this, which you would need to buy. Your tutor will be able to advise.


The learning outcomes for the advanced level are equivalent to level B1/B2+ of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), guidelines used across Europe to describe achievements of learners of foreign language. You can expect to be able to communicate with reasonable fluency at the end of the course.
