Course aims: a continuation of previous study to further develop speaking, writing and comprehension skills, extend your range of grammatical structures and vocabulary and to prepare you for more complex communication in real life situations in the countries where the language is spoken. More advanced grammatical structures of the language are practised with authentic materials and the target language is used predominantly in this class. Learning outcomes: The learning outcomes for level 4 (parts 1 and 2) are equivalent to level B1 of the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference), guidelines used across Europe to describe achievements of learners of foreign language.

Resources to support the course include on-line materials which will be made available by the tutor. The course structure is in line with Edito B1 (Nouvelle Edition, 2nd edition). It is highly recommended that students obtain a copy of the book to assist them with their independent study at home. There is also a student book which may be useful; Cahier d’activités Edito B1

This course includes an internally marked assessment in the final week of term 2. A certificate of achievement will be provided on successful completion of the assessment. More information about the assessment will be provided by your tutor.
