Archaeology Field Trip to Lincoln

University of Nottingham School of Humanities

Welcome Field Trip for Archaeology students on the 29th of September.

Detailed Description

This is the week one fieldtrip for Archaeology students (single honours, joint honours and postgrads) to the wonderful historic city of Lincoln, one of the most important sites in the east of England. Lincoln began as a Roman fortress and colonia, before becoming an Anglo-Saxon and Viking Age trading post and an important medieval cathedral city. You will have a tour of the Roman and Medieval city, and an opportunity to visit the Museum (and you’ll also get the chance to browse the gift shops and buy an ice-cream!) It will be a great opportunity for you to get to know your new coursemates and tutors as well as see some impressive archaeological remains. Students should bring lunch or there will be an opportunity to purchase lunch. We will be in the town but students should wear comfortable shoes for walking.
