An introduction to diagnostic andrology and theraputic sperm processing.

This workshop is aimed ideally at people with some laboratory skills in andrology,  at least those with some experience of diagnostic semen analysis.

Those with some experience in sperm processing (sperm washing and preparation) may benefit from shared experience or learning new techniques. Moreover, individuals embarking on either ABA modules 1 or 2 would find the sessions very useful.

Day 1 and 2 focuses on good practice in semen analysis and introduces techniques endorsed by the World Health Organisation and the use of computer assisted semen analysis.

Day 3 takes delegates from the diagnostic bench through to the treatment service with a long laboratory session on sperm preparation methods and another chance to use the skills learned in days 1 and 2.

Lectures accompany each day’s practical sessions  and there is plenty of time for discussion and/or focusing on areas of interest or weakness in the laboratory.

There is a strong emphasis on quality, risk management and accreditation of service.
