This two-day conference will take place online and is for anyone who is interested in exploring the importance of wellbeing in the regardless of their role, age or gender. It is divided into two separate but related days. Delegates will have an opportunity to share best practice, exchange viewpoints on approaches to wellbeing and the impact of menopause for all in the workplace. They will also be able to reflect on the challenges and possible solutions to address the wellbeing deficits in today’s workplace. It is anticipated that this conference will facilitate networking opportunities and future initiatives for professionals, organisations and advocates interested in advancing wellbeing and menopause inclusivity in the workplace.

NILI-UK (Network Insegnanti di Lingua Italiana UK) is pleased to invite all teachers of Italian Language across the UK for a full-day networking event scheduled for Friday, May 24, 2024, at the University of Nottingham. This marks our first in-person gathering following two productive online sessions. The event aims to provide a platform for Italian teachers across the UK to connect, collaborate, and foster meaningful partnerships. The central theme for the day is ‘DiversItalia: insegnare la diversità’. Our goal is to initiate engaging discussions on various topics, including (but not limited to):

• Gender-fair language in Italian pedagogy.
• Linguistic varieties, including dialects.
• Diversity in Italian demography and geography.
• The new face of Italy
• The impact of textbooks and pedagogical resources on supporting (or hindering)  diversity in the classroom.
• Inclusive pedagogy.

A growing body of research is focusing on short-form social media content such as TikTok posts, Instagram reels, and tweets. Despite this, there is a lack of linguistically oriented work that grapples with how to ethically collect and linguistically examine data from these platforms. In this timely seminar, we will explore emerging linguistic work on short-form social media and consider the ethics and practicalities of collecting and analysing this data.
